Meet Guide Liz, an incredible 2021 addition to our crew! Liz connected with us on Facebook and when she saw we were hiring for a guide, she couldn't get here quick enough! She's from Maine originally, and even though picking up and moving to a place she'd never been before was probably the craziest thing she's ever done before... she has found peace of mind in Crystal River that tells her she is exactly where she needs to be. She had dreamed of cool, clear springs, scallop hunting, and manatees but once she took a trip with Captain Emerson & Guide Lyndsay, the deal was sealed and she hasn't looked back since!
Liz has a background in hospitality and food service... which means that she knows how to anticipate your families' needs and deliver you an experience well beyond what you'd expect. We regularly hear that Liz goes 'above and beyond for her guests and that means she is a natural at the 'River Ventures Way'! Her motto is 'Live a Life you can be proud of, and if you are not then change the life you're living!' We respect that she really models that behavior and she inspires all of us to take that rare leap to be true to ourselves. That authentic personality is one that comes through on every trip with Liz!
This beautiful lady is proud to be building a life here in the Crystal River area where she has a small piece of property that she is filling with fruit trees and gardens. Liz has two big dogs that she spoils; one is a complete mama's boy and the other is shy at first but is the BEST BOY once you get to know him. In her free time, she loves to hike and is still finding new beaches and swimming holes to explore. She's quickly become a 'Scalloping Queen' and is referred to regularly as a 'Manatee Whisperer'... some people are naturals and that definitely describes Ms. Liz!!
Liz is passionate about eco-conservation and feels her calling is to educate and enlighten, especially the young, as having knowledge about nature can truly change the way that one views life. It's the next generation that we will depend on the make this world a better place! She hopes to spend her future-focused on her community and possibly a coaching job. Her positive, go-get-'em attitude is something that helps her shine in all that she does! And just like one of her favorite artists Lizzo, Liz starts every day feeling 'Good as Hell' and highly recommends some of Lizzo's upbeat tunes to get your attitude adjusted on a dark day. Sometimes a great tune can make all the difference! You may find her hunting for scallops, dancing to a fave song, or playing with her mutts... but you'll probably notice she has no shoes on! Those bare feet keep her grounded, make her one with the earth, and can definitely lead you to adventure!! Come meet Liz and chances are you're going to leave here feeling good as hell!!
