The prime scalloping grounds off of Citrus County offer crystal clear water. We
find the Scallops in the shallow water, most of the time in less than 5 feet of
water making this a suitable activity for both adults and children. Because of
the abundance of scallops in our waters, Citrus County has become a
prime-scalloping destination along the Nature Coast. If you are looking for a

Early morning scalloping charters meet at the River Ventures tour center at 7:00
AM, and return to the docks at approximately 12:00 PM. Afternoon tours will meet
at 12:00 PM, and will return by 5:00 PM daily throughout the scallop season.
Please arrive to our shop by 7:00 AM for the early tour, and 12:00 PM for the
afternoon tour to prepare for your adventure. Our scalloping charters are
complete, just bring your towel, bathing suit, and sandwiches if you desire and
we will provide the rest.
